Does the scheme comply with the Local Plan?
The site is designated as a protected employment site. However, the location and narrowness of the site do not make it suitable for modern industrial processes. There are benefits that will arise because of redevelopment of the site to residential, which will need to be weighed in the planning balance with the loss of the employment use.
